The following poem, in its original form, was composed by the theologian John Chuchman. It was originally about his Christian Church as an institution. As I read, it reminded me of Rotary and our struggles to grow our membership in North America. I wrote John and asked him for permission to modify it for a Rotarian audience. I received permission to modify it. John has reviewed it and extended his permission to share it with you.

Embracing SuperAgers (ESA) will offer membership in "virtual clubs" that may meet via Zoom. A "Virtual Club" is any group of members aged "80 and beyond" who get together for a short period of time on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to engage with each other for a specific purpose. Examples could be a book club, a musical game club, or a group to form an over-80 club in a service organization. This feature will evolve as Embracing SuperAges grows its membership. It will eventually take the form of a daily schedule of events. The forming of such "clubs" will originate with the service of one or more volunteers. With time and growing financial resources, paid assistance may evolve. ESA has chosen the ClubRunner Content Management System (CMS). ClubRunner is a company built to provide Rotary Clubs, iwith public-facing websites and club-facing management tools. The annual cost of using ClubRunner is modest. It is based on a sliding scale determined by a club's size. As a founding member, you have access to an introductory full membership at $20.00 per year. Members aged 80+ may also post opinion pieces, which will reflect the author's views and not those of Embracing SuperAgers as a corporate entity.
